Physical healing was not the immediate cause of my becoming interested in Christian Science. I had attended the Sunday school and church services of several religious denominations for a number of years. There was no lasting appeal to me, however, from any of these beliefs or creeds, and finally I did not attend any church.

On one occasion, friends invited me to a Christian Science Sunday service. I knew practically nothing of the subject, and it was my interest in these friends which prompted my attendance. Subsequent services were attended, and it was not very long before I recognized that Christian Science presents a theology which affords an understanding of a God at hand and a present salvation, wherein it is not necessary to die to be saved. My interest continued to grow, and through experience I learned something of the truth of the statement on page 145 of Science and Health, where Mrs. Eddy says, "The theology of Christian Science includes healing the sick."

Christian Science healed me of a severe attack of influenza. For two days I felt myself skirting the borders of consciousness. On the third day I was well enough to be out, and within the week I was completely free.
