Through a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel the sweet influence of a new light came to me, the healing power of Christian Science. Before this, I had often thought what a different world this would be if there were no sickness and suffering. As I read the Christian Science literature I learned the truth that the man of God's creating is sinless, without sickness and suffering.
A first healing was one of constipation of many years' standing. Trusting in what I had already gleaned of the truth I took no medicine, and it was with great joy that I became conscious of my healing, which took place about fourteen years ago.
Another healing which I experienced was that of an injured arm. I slipped while running down a bank and broke my arm. Even while the bone was being set, I was not conscious of pain, and there was great rejoicing in my heart because of this, for I felt that I had indeed found the way leading to the new heaven and earth. It was not until a few days after this healing that I saw a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had previously purchased some of her other writings and immediately sent for a copy of the textbook.
