How Can I Make Divine Law My Own?
[Original article in German]
How do divine laws operate? How can I avail myself of them, and how apply them?
The answer to these questions can be made comprehensible by means of the following illustration. In any room, church building, or on the street—in short, wherever we are, radio waves are present. We do not see them; we cannot detect them except with the aid of a receiving set. And yet they are present everywhere. We need only to tune in on a radio set, when we at once hear what is being sent out from the broadcasting station.
Divine Mind with its thoughts is present wherever we are, and these thoughts or ideas are purely spiritual. For this reason we cannot perceive them with the five physical senses; but notwithstanding this, they are omnipresent. In Christian Science we are constantly finding proofs of the healing presence of God, good. For instance, sick persons are often healed instantaneously on visiting a Christian Science practitioner. This is a wholly natural occurrence. There is only one power, the power of Spirit, God. Spirit includes all that is good, beautiful, strong, healthy—in short, all good qualities and ideas. Of what benefit is this knowledge to us? Just as a radio audience requires to tune in before a concert can reach it over the radio, so too must we be in tune with, or in harmony with, the divine before we can benefit from omnipresent Truth.
