I am very grateful for the privilege of writing this testimony. About twenty-seven years ago I had a healing of Bright's disease of several years' standing. I had been taking medicine during these years without relief. At this time I heard of Christian Science and went to practitioner. I was healed in a week, and have had no recurrence of the disease. I am grateful for what Christian Science means to me, and should like to mention a few cases of protection which I have experienced. God is a present help in time of need.

About two years ago I caught my foot in a belt on a corn shredder. The first thought that came to me was, There is no accident in God or divine Mind. My foot was twisted upside down. After it was released I experienced no trouble, but worked on, thanking God for His goodness. If we trust in Him, He will direct our path. Over a year ago I had an experience for which I feel I can never sufficiently thank the practitioner and all those who helped me. While I was cutting some trees one fell on me, breaking my leg and foot. I declared the truth as best I could. I was taken home, and a practitioner was called. I trusted in God, and the leg was healed without the aid of a doctor. Although the healing seemed slow, it gave me many hours to read and study more of God's Word in the Bible, and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for which I am very grateful.

When we feel discouraged, we should remember that God never fails us when we put all our trust in Him. I should also like to express my gratitude for another incident, when God was a very present help. I was approaching a car crossing; a car was coming, but I did not see it or hear the whistle, and I was almost upon it. A voice seemed to say, "Be still and know that I am God—turn your car." I turned my car into a ditch. The interurban car passed within four feet. I had no sense of fear, for I was thanking God for His protection. The motorman stopped his car to make sure that I was unharmed.
