The acceptance of His Word revealed in Christian Science...

The acceptance of His Word revealed in Christian Science has so enriched my life and affections that I should like to share my experiences with others. "And may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" (Manual, Art. VIII, Sect. 4.)

I did not accept Christian Science for physical healing, although I needed it very much, but because I was hungering and thirsting for a demonstrable religion—a religion that could be proved in the affairs of daily life.

At the early age of thirteen years I joined a Christian church and was baptized. Twenty years later, through the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I acquired a higher concept of baptism, which she defines (p. 581) as, "Purification by Spirit; submergence in Spirit." Again, she says (ibid., p. 35), "Our baptism is a purification from all error."
