Replying to my letter correcting his allegations of blasphemy...

Newcastle Advertiser

Replying to my letter correcting his allegations of blasphemy in respect to the teachings of Christian Science and the divine Comforter, a clergyman makes some more misleading statements about Christian Science, and includes the charge of avoiding the issue. Space in your columns, therefore, is requested to insert this corrective letter.

The Son of God is understood in Christian Science to be the Christ, the eternal spiritual individuality of man made in the image and likeness of God, which Jesus referred to when he said, "Before Abraham was, I am."

Christian Science does not deny the divinity of Jesus, if by this is meant his eternal spiritual nature, but draws the distinction between his physical personality, born of Mary, and the eternal Christ, which he exemplified more than anyone else has ever done.
