During the fifteen years I have been a student of Christian Science, I have experienced healings of so-called functional and organic difficulties, for which I am grateful. I recently had a healing by mental means of that which would have otherwise required surgery.

For some time there seemed to be a hard band encasing the tubes of my throat, and an enlargement had been commented on by a member of my family. I ignored this condition until it affected my singing. My first thought was to have a diagnosis by a throat specialist; however, as I had had so many proofs of God's power to heal, I called up a Christian Science practitioner. The next day when I started singing there was a crackling noise; in fact, so loud that my accompanist turned to look at me. The thought came to me that I should have had an examination by a throat specialist. I tried to sing the second time with the same result. I then held in thought that there is no imperfection in perfection, and when I made the third attempt to sing, I was entirely healed. Later in the day I put my hand to my throat and joyfully discovered that the obstruction had been removed. I have had no further throat trouble.
