Over eleven years ago I was confined to a bed of suffering with heart and stomach trouble, the verdict being that I would pass on. About this time a neighbor presented Christian Science to us. After reading the testimonies in two Sentinels I knew I had found the truth, and felt certain that I, too, could be healed. I had a great desire to be healed for the sake of my husband and three small children; this added to my willingness to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I was healed instantaneously of the stomach trouble, when I was told that I did not have to fear food. This was in June, 1925. I immediately gave up a strict diet, and I have never suffered again from stomach trouble.
By learning and holding to "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468), and the Scriptural facts, "I can of mine own self do nothing," "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me," and, "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death," I was able to take up my household duties in about two months. I felt as one who had passed from death into life. During the years since then I have not tasted medicine. I have seen heart trouble, nervous breakdown, rheumatism, chronic neuralgia, nettle rash, blood poisoning, boils, eczema, influenza, whooping cough, and tuberculosis healed under Christian Science treatment. A badly infected foot was healed. When I acknowledged to the practitioner that anger and resentment were causing it, the swelling and inflammation disappeared in a short time.
I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for giving to the world the greatest gift it has known since Jesus was among men. My great desire is to live this truth we are taught, and to help my fellow men.
