I was a carefree, athletic girl and an ardent church...

I was a carefree, athletic girl and an ardent church member in an orthodox church until after my marriage. Then, two years after my baby was born, I found myself in debt and in an extremely nervous condition.

When my parents asked me to have a Christian Science practitioner I was reluctant to do so, because I did not then know that Christian Science was a religion, for I had heard of it only once before. Later, after I had been put into an institution for observation, my parents engaged a practitioner to give me absent treatment. My improved condition astounded the doctors, but soon after this the treatments were discontinued and my condition appeared to become worse.

Some time after this my parents had the absent treatments resumed for six months, and I was finally released and sent home with a Christian Science nurse in attendance for three months. When I received my healing, the doctor predicted that I would return to the hospital within a year, but my healing has been permanent for fifteen years. I have progressed in health and have taken part in church activities ever since.
