I wish to express my sincere gratitude for a wonderful demonstration of the healing power of Truth to refute the testimony of the physical senses.
While working at night on a road construction job, I was caught in between a gas shovel and a truck in such a way that the truck, loaded with five yards of rock, ran over my legs and stomach with the rear wheels. Voicing what I knew of the truth, I did not feel any pain until workmen put me in a truck to take me to the hospital. I was met at the hospital by my mother, and while talking with her I felt my hip slip back in place. X-ray pictures showed a broken pelvis bone and three broken vertebrae.
A Christian Science practitioner in an out-of-state city took the case, and after twelve days I was out in a wheel chair and left the hospital the sixteenth day, walking out on crutches. No bones were set nor casts put on me. In less than six weeks I was walking without crutches or cane. Two months to the day I drove with my mother on an automobile trip covering a distance of about seventeen hundred miles. Before the end of six months I was working as a lineman for a power company.
