It is with a heart full of gratitude that I wish to express here my appreciation of the benefits I have received through Christian Science. During the early days of the so-called depression, many people came to me with many difficult problems, and it was through my desire to give them sympathy and comfort began studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At this time I had many physical problems of my own, but I was confirmed in the belief that as middle age approached I would resign myself to a long period of suffering.

However, I had been studying but three weeks when I suddenly realized that I was no longer suffering from a bronchial trouble which previously had meant each morning coughing spells of at least a half-hour's duration, frequently accompanied by loss of blood. My curiosity was aroused now to learn more of this healing power, and I began to study in earnest to overcome other physical arguments. One evening it occurred to me that if Christian Science could heal bronchitis, it would be equally effective with chronic constipation, if I were willing to discard my cathartics and rely entirely upon God. Immediately I made my decision, threw away the pills I had found so necessary until then, and returned to several hours of further study. That night I fell asleep with a feeling of peace, and from that day until this I have never had a return of constipation.

During the next year many healings followed in quick succession, through the study of Mrs. Eddy's books. Heart trouble of many years' standing disappeared, an infected jaw was healed, a sliver of bone was expelled without any suffering, and headaches, burns, bruises, and sore throat were speedily overcome with the power of Truth.
