Sixteen years ago I was in the depths of despair

Sixteen years ago I was in the depths of despair. My child was stricken with infantile paralysis, my home was enshrouded in a discordant atmosphere, and extreme poverty pressed upon me.

After doctors had done everything humanly possible for the child and gave no hope that she would ever walk again, I turned to Christian Science as a last resort. When treatment had been given for two weeks, the little girl was able to move herself around and stand up. As my understanding increased, improvement was manifested, and soon the child was walking. She is now a young lady, in perfect health and capable of engaging in physical activities. This experience has taught me that as we strive and are willing to give up "the old man," with his false beliefs of hatred, jealousy, pride, and resentment, we are healed, transformed by the renewing of the mind, as Paul says.

I have witnessed many healings through the application of the truth as taught by Mrs. Eddy and given to the world in her precious book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Among them are those of a cancerous growth, ulcers of the stomach, dysentery, influenza, headaches, sprained ankle, and many minor ailments.
