What wonderful inspiration and healing one finds in a contemplation of the words of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, as found on page 269 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," where she states: "The testimony of the material senses is neither absolute nor divine. I therefore plant myself unreservedly on the teachings of Jesus, of his apostles, of the prophets, and on the testimony of the Science of Mind. Other foundations there are none." In bearing witness to the healing power of Christian Science, I am happy to say that I have had many opportunities to prove the utter falsity of sense evidence and to follow our Leader unhestatingly in complete reliance on God—Life, Truth, and Love—to meet my every need.

About twenty years ago I was engaged in employment which required physical examinations each time a change was made from one place to another. In the course of one of these examinations, I was told that I had developed an organic ailment which disqualified me, and which was beyond the aid of medicine. As I was very young and impressionable, fear took a devastating hold and I was reduced to a physical and mental wreck. I was more than two thousand miles from my home and despaired of ever returning there.

It was then that I was told about Christian Science, and I shall always remember the great sense of peace which came to me on my first visit to a Reading Room. I shall always remember, with a heart full of thanks, the wonderful uplifting I received from reading the first ten pages of Science and Health. How wonderful the assurance of the power of true prayer, how perfect the reasoning!
