Christian Science is the reinstatement of the Christianity...
Christian Science is the reinstatement of the Christianity lived, taught, and demonstrated by Christ Jesus. To all mankind, here and now, it offers a complete salvation.
Students of the Bible are quite familiar with the undeniable fact that Jesus performed many mighty works, among which were cases of healing diseases considered at that time, and today, serious maladies. He healed blindness, deafness, palsy, lameness, dropsy, leprosy, hemorrhage, and insanity; yet he never claimed that he, apart from God, did these glorious works. Our great Master always acknowledged God as the only power. He prayed, and taught others to pray, "Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever." Likewise, Christian Science declares God to be the only power, and it ascribes to Him the honor and glory for all good accomplished.
In Christian Science it is understood that there is but one God. This God is wholly good, and is the creator of all that exists; therefore the creation of God is like its infinite cause, wholly good. On page 587 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is found the definition of God. It is as follows: "God. The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence." Jesus said (Luke 12:32), "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." God is "eternal," and it is indeed comforting to know that all that He has created is also eternal, perfect, indestructible.
