I should like to express my gratitude for a healing which occurred in my home some time ago. One morning while playing, our young daughter fell off a step and hurt her right arm badly. I declared the truth as we are taught in Christian Science, remembering particularly a statement I had just read in a religious article in the Monitor. It stated, "The truth about anything is all there is about it." I knew that the truth in this instance was that no accident could occur in divine Mind; therefore there could be no ill effect from any so-called accident.

The child went about her play as usual, except that she used her left arm exclusively for about three days. At this time, seeing that the condition was not healing as it should, I called a Christian Science practitioner and work was begun. Our daughter began to use her right arm at once, and after two weeks we had almost forgotten the incident. A week later my husband and I noticed a protrusion just below her elbow, as if a bone were out of place. As my husband is not a student of Christian Science, I consented to have the arm X-rayed, according to his wish. However, before visiting the doctor I called the practitioner, and she impressed upon me the fact that a good condition was the only condition that could possibly be found.

The X ray showed that the arm had been completely broken just below the elbow. The doctor said that it had been set as well as he could have done it himself, and it was healing beautifully. He explained that the protrusion we saw was a protective coating of cartilage which had grown over the break, and that it would gradually disappear. He did not offer to bind the arm in any way, as the child had been using it normally and the bone was almost completely knitted. From the time the practitioner began work my daughter's activities were normal in every respect, and it was not necessary for her to miss one day of her nursery school or Sunday school.
