For over eighteen years Christian Science has been my only help in solving every problem, whether it was a physical claim, a financial worry, or a mental disturbance. When the truth was properly applied and persistently dwelt in, the condition was met every time.

About ten years ago I was healed in three treatments of a nervous breakdown. The claim was so severe that every bit of noise was a torment to me, mentally and physically.

One Saturday evening I was boiling some fudge. The upper part of the double boiler stuck in the lower one so that the steam could not escape. Suddenly there was an explosion, and the upper kettle was thrown to the ceiling and the hot fudge was thrown in my face. Instantly I declared, "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 473), and, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents" (ibid., p. 424). As I wiped my face I noticed that all the skin came off. Fear, and the possible belief in pain, were immediately handled. My wife and I worked earnestly that evening and the following day. One lovely and helpful thought that we held to was that the sacrifices of the Israelites had to be without spot or blemish, even that my body was and would be without spot or blemish, even as Paul expressed it, "that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God." On Monday I was in my office, completely healed. No scab formed; there was no scar; and no pain was experienced during this time. To me this was a marvelous demonstration of the power of Truth and Love to heal. Surely there is reason for deep gratitude for such evidence of the power of the ever-present Christ, Truth, to heal.
