Protection

Why need I fear to go alone
To places strange and far away?
My Father still protects His own;
Will He not guard me day by day?
Why should I dread the busy mart,
That stream of active, moving thought?
Who knows but in its very heart
I'll find a friendship I have sought?
And though mid jostling crowds I fare,
In ignorance I shall not go;
Some angel thought will find me there,
And tell me all I need to know.
Henceforth I'll journey without fear,
For Christ doth ever go before;
And feeling Love's sweet presence near,
I'll trust His guidance more and more.
