In a book review, "C. E. L." states that a certain book "squares the strange doctrines of Mrs. Eddy, Mrs. Besant, and Madame Blavatsky with current views of psychology and religion."

The teachings of Mrs. Eddy have no connection with reincarnation, et cetera. The Church of Christ, Scientist, was founded by Mary Baker Eddy. In the Church Manual (p. 17) it is stated that in 1879, "on motion of Mrs. Eddy, it was voted,—To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."

The members of this church are proving that the words of the Nazarene are as applicable today as when they were spoken: "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This religion cannot be squared with current views of psychology.
