New Members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship

Colin Rücker Eddison, C. S., is a native of England. In 1912, during his last term at Oxford University, where he completed his education, he began the study of Christian Science, having previously witnessed the healing of a member of his family. After serving from 1914 to 1918 in the British Army, in which he reached the rank of Captain, he was employed for a time by a British Government Department, and subsequently entered the service of the Underground Electric Railways Company of London. In June, 1923, he retired from business in order to devote all his time to Christian Science practice.

Mr. Eddison has been member of The Mother Church since June, 1914. He is also a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, London, and has served that branch church as chairman of its board, as First Reader, and as president, as well as in other capacities. He is at present one of its trustees.

Mr. William Wallace Porter, C. S. B., was born at Crown Point, New York. His early education was acquired in the public school system, following which he held positions in educational and industrial organizations. In 1899, Mr. Porter removed to New York City, where he became executive vice-president of the Guggenheim Brothers mining interest, remaining in this position until 1907.
