Although it was only about three years ago that I first heard of Christian Science, I already have experienced many of its wonderful blessings, for which I feel I must express my profound gratitude. This healing truth was introduced to me by a friend, when all material aid seemed to be failing me, and I shall never cease to rejoice that I decided to look into this teaching. My whole mental outlook has undergone a complete change, and my new concept of God as omnipotent and omnipresent Love is helping me daily and hourly to overcome the deadliest of all enemies, fear.
I am particularly grateful for one very wonderful healing I experienced. On visiting my hairdresser, I had it pointed out to me that I was suffering from a distressing complaint called alopecia. Already there was a bald patch on my head the size of a walnut, for which drastic treatment was prescribed, as, otherwise, the trouble would rapidly spread. I left, fully intending to follow out the treatment prescribed, but on my way home I was able to overcome my fear, and decided to rely solely on Christian Science. Later in the day I telephoned a practitioner, who immediately allayed all fear with the protective thought she left with me, "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered." I then let the matter rest with her until my next visit to the hairdresser, three weeks later, confident that the trouble had been checked. Imagine my joy and gratitude when my hairdresser was unable to find any trace of the condition, and it was only after a very careful examination that she was able to show me the new hair which had grown in its place, whereas, according to material law, the healing would have taken months.
I am truly grateful for this demonstration of the power of Truth, which has been made possible through the consecrated work of Mary Baker Eddy and the loving help of practitioners.—(Mrs.) Gladys M. Hubbard, Hazel Grove, Cheshire, England.
