Waiting

As the poppy waits the morning sunIts petals to unfold,Until upon a gladdened worldIt smiles in radiant gold;So, patiently,I wait for Thee.

As the fledgling waits and with each flightIncreasing strength it tries,Until above the mist and cloudsWith fearless wing it flies,ExpectantlyI wait for Thee.
