When I was a little girl, my father boarded me with a Christian Scientist, and for two years I had the blessed privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. In these last few years I have never ceased to be grateful for this firm foundation, although it was not until eighteen years later that I again turned to the study of this Science.

I hardly knew what it was to be well myself; our youngest child had never been well from birth, and all our business ventures for several years had seemed to fail. Altogether existence seemed a weary thing. In this extremity I determined to buy a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and try to help the child. I did not realize at that time that all our affairs would be helped, whether they were physical ailments or business ailments. Acting upon this resolve, both my husband and I began to study this book earnestly. Our business affairs became more harmonious, physical ailments began dropping away, and "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding" made itself felt.

In our family of four there have been many healings, some by our own efforts, others with the help of a practitioner. Among the difficulties healed have been several so-called children's diseases, including whooping cough in one treatment. Also cases of quinsy, boils, oak poisoning in a severe form, a dislocated and broken elbow, acute appendicitis, and mastoid abscesses in both ears have been healed. Although the last-mentioned healing was not complete until three weeks had passed, every bit of the abscesses came away, and no pain was experienced after the first day.
