With heartfelt thanks I wish to express my gratitude for the countless blessings I have received through Christian Science. Previous to coming into Science I was a member of an orthodox church and loved it; but there came a time in my experience when it failed to help me, and my prayers seemed empty and meaningless. But God was leading me, and when Christian Science was presented to me by a faithful Scientist I was prepared to accept it, and my outlook on life was entirely changed. It was indeed a revelation.
At first the physical healings did not appeal to me, but now I enjoy reading the testimonies in our periodicals and have experienced many healings. Headaches have vanished and colds are much less frequent. For the healing of a growth I am particularly grateful. Although it was slow, I was marvelously protected. I was with friends who did not understand Christian Science healing; then I went to a friend who was interested in Christian Science, and while there the growth discharged with very little pain or discomfort. The following passage from the Bible was sent to me by the same loving Scientist who first introduced Science to me: "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up;" and this helped me to realize that God never planted anything but good.
For God's guidance and protection at all times, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, for giving us the "key" to the Scriptures, I am indeed grateful; also for the consecrated lives of all connected with the Cause. For membership in The Mother Church and a branch church I would also add my gratitude.
