Eastern Evening News

Your issue of Thursday last contains an account of what is described as "a strange use" of a ship's wireless by a Christian Scientist in seeking help whilst aboard from his friends ashore. Such an occurrence, either by wireless, by telegram, or by telephone, is a common event amongst Christian Scientists, and there are many testimonies of healing to be read in our periodicals or to be heard at the Wednesday evening meetings of our churches throughout the world, proving that these requests are successfully answered.

It is recorded in Luke's Gospel how Christ Jesus healed the centurion's servant whilst at a distance; and Christian Scientists, knowing as they do that Jesus' promise, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also," holds for all time and all people, are proving that, in the degree that they possess the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," they are able to fulfill this promise. If, at times, their efforts are seemingly unsuccessful, it is because they have not yet reached a sufficient degree of that perfect understanding of spiritual law which Jesus possessed.
