Acknowledgment

Christian Science gives us the rule for right acknowledgment. That is, through its teachings we learn how to acknowledge only that which is true and real.

A dictionary defines the word "acknowledge" as follows: "To own or admit. To receive as a fact; accept; admit the genuineness or validity of." Christian Science teaches us to own or admit one infinite God, Spirit; to acknowledge the spiritual facts of existence; to accept the good and deny all evil, and to admit the genuineness or validity of perfect God and perfect man.

Four of the six Tenets of Christian Science, found on page 497 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, clearly state what Christian Scientists learn to acknowledge, and what they are earnestly striving to live daily. Membership in The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, or any of the branch churches, requires acceptance of these Tenets, and an earnest endeavor to live according to them.
