For a long time I have intended to give my testimony, for, like many others, I feel that without the teachings of Christian Science this human life would have little light or joy.

While still a child, I first heard about Christian Science, and when I learned that it could heal in the same way that Jesus did, I accepted it at once. Therefore I was not surprised when it healed a relative. I often read the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly with this relative and early learned something of the message of this great truth. I soon purchased the textbook for myself, and when I left home for college, I selected the Christian Science church as my choice for Sunday religions religions service there as not been a Science church in my home town.

It was not long after this that I became ill. I do not know the name of the trouble, but I was unable to attend classes or to leave my room. The condition was one of great pain in one side of my body, and I could find no rest in any position, and could not even stand up straight. This condition continued for a few days. Soon another college student who had seen me at the Christian Science church came to me and asked if I wanted Science treatment, and I eagerly consented. She agreed to call a practitioner for me. This was my first treatment for sickness, and it was an absent one. Not only was I healed physically in that treatment, but an indescribable joy took possession of my thought, the memory of which has never left me.
