In the Preface to our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read (p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." We have had numerous opportunities of proving this during the many years since Christian Science came into our lives.

Fourteen years ago I suffered a severe loss of blood through the bursting of a varicose vein. The result was a dangerous weakness of the heart which made us fear the worst. Kind relatives gave me the textbook to read. By reading it daily I soon had proofs of Truth. Within a short time the heart trouble vanished. I also took off the tight bandage, and was able to take care of all my work again, although two physicians had predicted the need of treatment for a long time and another rupture of the varicose vein.

I have also had a complete healing of a suppurative condition of the jawbone cavity on both sides, merely by reading the textbook and applying the spiritual truth which we can learn from it, although healing had not resulted from two operations and the specialist had stated after treating me for four years and a half that the trouble was incurable. The terrible headaches from which I had suffered for five years disappeared entirely, and I have not had a headache for twelve years.
