When Christian Science was first presented to me in 1916 by a friend, I had depended on the use of medicine for twenty-six years. I was suffering at that time from chronic tonsillitis, which in the past had kept me from my work, as teacher in the public schools, for over a week at a time each season. I asked for Christian Science help from a practitioner and was healed in one treatment, which then seemed to me to be nothing less than a miracle, but now I understand it was only natural. My first healing was sufficient proof to me that Christian Science is the truth of which the Psalmist said, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."

I have made several demonstrations by the realization of Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 199 in Science and Health, "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible." I had Christian Science treatment during the birth of my only child, and complete harmony was very much in evidence. I have been healed of blood poisoning, colds, inflammation of the bladder, appendicitis, and biliousness. Through diligent study of the textbook I have overcome gallstones for myself.

I wish to express my appreciation and gratitude for our Leader's works on Christian Science and for the loving and faithful practitioners and friends who have helped me during trying times.
