I desire to express my gratitude to God for the blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science nearly thirty years ago.

When my little daughter, who had been a healthy child, suddenly was taken ill and the doctor said she could not live over three hours, I thought God had sent the sickness and that it was His will that she die. I wrestled with myself until I could say, "Thy will be done," but it brought no peace or any love for God. I further thought that if I could have lived in Jesus' time, to see one case of healing, it would have been wonderful, but to me that was just history and of no present avail.

In the Christian Science textbook (p. 1) Mrs. Eddy writes, "Desire is prayer," and my desire to see a case of healing was answered a few years later when I saw a wonderful one accomplished through Christian Science treatment. At-that time I began the earnest study of the Bible and the textbook with the Christian Science Quarterly, and in a very short time I realized that I was healed of tubercular throat trouble, believed to be inherited from my mother, who passed on with that disease when I was a child. This healing has been permanent.
