My mother turned to Christian Science many years ago...
My mother turned to Christian Science many years ago when physicians gave her little hope of regaining health and happiness. In ten days she was permanently healed of nervous prostration. Since that time our family has received many blessings. My father's eyesight was restored after he had worn glasses for many years. Appendicitis, whooping cough, influenza, colds, and many other ailments have been healed. My small son's crushed thumb was restored whole in about fifteen minutes. A broken nose was set and knitted together within twelve hours.
Of all the experiences that I have had, one will always stand out as a waymark. It is the one which will always give me absolute courage to go on, regardless of the testimony of the material senses. The fleshy end of the middle finger of my right hand was cut off along with the end of the nail, and the finger was cut several times by the sharp blade of a swiftly moving electric fan. The nail and end of this finger were wholly restored without a scar. Fourteen days after the accident I was able to use this finger on the typewriter.
I am deeply grateful to God for all these blessings and for the years of Sunday school training, for membership in a branch church and in The Mother Church, for our literature, for class instruction, and for our dear Leader.—(Mrs.) Katherine Hahn Hollander, Evansville, Indiana.
