My heart is overflowing with gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whose pure love for God enabled her to receive this revelation, Christian Science, and to give it to all mankind.

I first heard of Christian Science thirteen years ago. I was then suffering from a severe throat trouble and was under the care of a physician, who told me that I was healed. Three days later the ailment returned. He helped me again and finally said he could do no more. I then went to a specialist, who told me I must have an operation on my throat and nose, and that it was a very serious case.

A few days later I overheard one of my coworkers telling of her own experience. Having used all material remedies to no avail, she went to a Christian Science practitioner and was healed of a serious throat trouble. The first opportunity I had, I asked her if she would please take me to him, as I was not well versed in the English language and she could help me to understand him. The practitioner asked me to read the textbook and to know that all is well. I read the book through twice, but could not understand it, and was tempted to return it, but the practitioner's words, "All is well," came to me and I read it again. Suddenly the realization that God is Love, unchangeable Love, came to me, and all my previous concepts of Him faded away as a mist, and I was free. This healing has been permanent.
