For several years I had been a member of an orthodox church, but it did not meet my needs as I thought a religion should. Many questions and problems remained unanswered and unsolved, and I had become confused and discouraged. At this time a friend invited me to a Christian Science lecture. The invitation was accepted reluctantly because of a prejudice against Mrs. Eddy and a tendency to ridicule the subject. During the lecture, however, most of the questions that had been perplexing me were answered and my prejudice was entirely healed. I was so completely satisfied with the interpretation and explanation of the Bible there given that I realized I wanted to become a student of this Science.

In less than a month's time I discovered that I had been healed of an eye trouble for which I had worn glasses for almost twenty years. Three eminent eye specialists had pronounced this condition incurable. One morning I was surprised to realize that I had not used my glasses for over a week. This was more than eight years ago, and I have never worn glasses since. This healing, without the aid of a practitioner, resulted wholly from my daily study of the Christian Science textbook.

I have had many other beautiful healings, for which I am very grateful, two of which were instantaneous healings of a severe sick headache and of influenza.
