For twenty years I have been a student of Christian Science, and I take this means of expressing my gratitude for all the good that its teachings have brought to me.
After I had been a student for a number of years, had joined The Mother Church, and had received many healings for my children and myself, I experienced a complete breakdown, both physical and mental. For almost two years I was unable to read or grasp any of this truth. The agony of those days was beyond description. I was living among people who knew nothing of Christian Science and who were opposed to what they thought it to be. They placed me in the care of physicians, one of whom told me that he could not help me but that Christian Science could cure such cases as mine. When the hour seemed darkest a dear friend and Scientist came to the home of a neighbor and remained for several months; and through her clear understanding and dear love I again began to read and study. Now, after more than three years, I can say I am glad to have had this experience. It has given me a sure foundation in Truth. Anguish and misery have given place to freedom, joy, and peace. Resentment and hate are being replaced with a deep desire to love my fellow men, to see them as the image and likeness of God, and not as sick or sinful mortals. My environment has changed, and I have a better understanding of home and supply.
I am indeed grateful to God for the loving help of practitioners, for our literature, for a better understanding of the words and works of Christ Jesus, and for our revered Leader, who has given to a waiting world this final revelation of Truth.—(Mrs.) Nora Crandall, Martinsville, Illinois.
