In deepest gratitude to God, infinite good, for the glorious...
In deepest gratitude to God, infinite good, for the glorious revelation of Christian Science and its healing power, through our beloved Leader, I wish to testify to the innumerable blessings I have received through following its teachings. From early childhood I yearned to know God and the meaning of the crucifixion, with its divine message to humanity. This was revealed to me after meeting a student of Christian Science for the first time. Spiritually I saw the Christ as the divine idea of God, and why Jesus "was appointed to speak God's word and to appear to mortals in such a form of humanity as they could understand as well as perceive" (Science and Health, p. 332). Previous to this I had never enjoyed good health, very often being prostrated with dreadful headaches, which for days kept me in my room, where absolute quiet had to be maintained. Life seemed full of trouble and sorrow. Doctors could give me no relief, and told me that I was temperamental and too highly strung. Since taking up the study of Christian Science over eighteen years ago I have not had one day's illness, and the headaches have disappeared. I enjoy health and strength, and have witnessed healings of cancer, consumption, peritonitis, asthma, and many other diseases.
Words fail to express my deep gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her revelation of Truth to this age. Membership in The Mother Church and in a Christian Science Society, where I have had the privilege of serving as one of its pioneers and witnessing the demonstration of a church building of its own, and class instruction have created in me a deeper and more earnest desire to be more Christlike and obedient to God's laws, as taught us by our loving Way-shower, Christ Jesus.—(Mrs.) Amy Ann Dobbin, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
