"Earth's preparatory school"

We hear a note of regret voiced many times by those who have not had the advantages of an education, either of public school or of college, because they feel that this education would have been an asset to them in their life-work. Because of this, they feel a sense of limitation or of hindrance to their progress.

Each individual, regardless of how little or how much scholastic training he has had, is enrolled in the school of human experience, and those who become students of Christian Science find that they are daily learning how to break down all beliefs of limitation by obtaining the right understanding of the allness of God, good. This spiritually mental work is not confined to any particular locality, since it is carried on in individual human consciousness.

This work requires diligent study of our textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." In speaking of the need for gaining "spiritual understanding and spiritual sense," Mrs. Eddy states on page 486 of her textbook, "Earth's preparatory school must be improved to the utmost." The purpose of this "preparatory school" is to bring forth the manifestation of perfection and goodness by a correct understanding of divine Love as infinite and supreme, thereby disclosing the unreality and powerlessness of all phases of error, including lack, poverty, unemployment, doubt, despair, poor business, as well as of sin, sickness, and death. Through this study one finds the revealed truth concerning God as the tender Father-Mother God, as infinite divine Mind, as eternal Life, as omnipotent Truth, as everlasting Love, as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus, our Way-shower.
