I am most grateful for what Christian Science has done...

I am most grateful for what Christian Science has done for my family and me, and what it is doing for the whole world.

I should like to tell of a healing of sciatic rheumatism which I had over four years ago. After three months in bed and much suffering, both physical and mental, a great sense of discouragement came over me. Being an active member in a Christian Science church and having attended Sunday school for several years, and having undivided faith in the healing efficacy of Christian Science, I could not understand why my healing was not manifested sooner. But I had to learn that I needed a better understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him. There was a time in this experience when such apathy clouded my thinking that it seemed easier for me to pass on than to struggle longer. But through the faithful work of the practitioner and the nurse in attendance, my thought was awakened, and I learned a most beautiful lesson, for which I am grateful. I learned to look away from the pain-racked body to which the physical senses testified, and I found that my spiritual being had never been less than perfect, never other than God had created it.

This healing has been permanent, and I am now enjoying the best of health. I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world a religion that can be practiced and proved.—(Mrs.) Maude Goodwin Jokerst, Los Angeles, California.
