"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." For fourteen years I was troubled with chronic sciatica and a malignant kidney complaint. At length I had to spend six months in the hospital, where all medical help failed. After I had been X-rayed several times, it was determined that I had chondrification of the pelvic bone and nephritis; and very soon I was discharged as incurable. During all these years I was subject to the severest pain, and in addition I often suffered from heartburn and nervousness. All desire to live had left me.

I had known about Christian Science for some years, but I did not want to heed its call. One day the thought came to me to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I was deeply moved by the testimonies which were given there, and decided to seek a Christian Science practitioner and ask for help. I did so, and the help was lovingly given me. After the first treatment I felt considerable relief and was whole-heartedly grateful. Some time later, when I learned to know God better, the ailments mentioned above disappeared. I learned not only to know what is right and true, but to love it and to demonstrate it in daily life. For the healings and blessings I have experienced through Christian Science I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my Father-Mother God, to our beloved Leader, and to the practitioner.
