Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Two dailies published reviews of a book misrepresenting our Leader. They were answered promptly, but only the one having the wider circulation published the correction. The editor of the other promised that he would print it, but so far he has not. the evening paper, Ethnos, had a treatise on healing by suggestion, in which Christian Science was mentioned in a misleading way. This article was not meant to be aggressive or inimical to our Cause, but it was nevertheless incorrect. My answer was promptly accepted, though it could not be published immediately for lack of space, owing to the political happenings in Greece.

Advertisement of the services of Christian Science Society, Athens, Greece, was published twelve times in the evening paper Hestia, which has a wide circulation. In general, the press is friendly in its attitude towards our Cause.

Last year, owing to the healing of a leading Freemason here through Christian Science treatment, the Masonic lodges of Athens invited me to speak to their members on Christian Science. After receiving special permission from The Christian Science Board of Directors, I read to them a Christian Science lecture in the Greek translation. The meeting was well attended and aroused great interest in Masonic circles. This lecture was published in full by a Greek daily as well as recently by a newly published Masonic review, Tectonike Echo, circulating only in Masonic circles.
