Vision

I prayed for sight; but in my thought was justThe joy of contemplating lovely thingsOf earth, and freedom, needing not to trustMaterial aids. Faith lifted me on wings,Truth led me by the hand, Love bade me see.I came into the dawn; no more were nightAnd shadows of materiality,But life's unfoldment unto heavenly light. And I have learned to see with clearer eyesThe perfect vision of eternal Mind;Helped by the pure in heart to win this prize,And true inheritance and blessing find. How wonderful a gift, to learn that sightIs knowing God, and serving Him aright!
