Vision

I prayed for sight; but in my thought was just
The joy of contemplating lovely things
Of earth, and freedom, needing not to trust
Material aids. Faith lifted me on wings,
Truth led me by the hand, Love bade me see.
I came into the dawn; no more were night
And shadows of materiality,
But life's unfoldment unto heavenly light.
And I have learned to see with clearer eyes
The perfect vision of eternal Mind;
Helped by the pure in heart to win this prize,
And true inheritance and blessing find.
How wonderful a gift, to learn that sight
Is knowing God, and serving Him aright!
