Nine years ago I suffered severely from rheumatoid arthritis. I had been under a doctor's care for many years and grew worse, until he could do no more for me. He asked me to try massage for my legs, so I had a nurse for six months. At the end of that time I was worse than before. I just dragged myself upstairs and slid down as best I could.

At this stage Christian Science was brought to my attention, and a friend told me that divine Love had not caused me to be in that condition. The Christian Science textbook was brought to me, and I was told I could find the truth in that book, so I searched for it. That was on a Thursday. I read all that day and could not see anything that would give me relief, but I read again all Friday, when the truth slowly began to unfold to me. I continued reading for four days. On the fourth day the pain in my legs was very great, but soon I realized my healing. I walked up and down the stairs four times to prove my God-given dominion over error.
