Cling Steadfastly

CLARICE MARY GROUCOTT

Cling steadfastly! O Father, I would cling
To Thee, in trial's moments, steadfastly:
In brighter days, my heart in joy would sing,
Help me, in shadow, still to sing to Thee!

Cling steadfastly! Though Thou my feet should lead
In ways unknown they never yet have trod,
Thy love is near, to meet my every need;
And every step I take leads on to God.

Cling steadfastly! If error's mists should fall
Around my way, let me not be dismayed:
Let me know Thee—my Way, my Life, my All,
And as God's child, I shall not be afraid.
