The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Detroit, Michigan (First Church).
Lecturer: Charles V. Winn; introduced by Archibald Carey, who said:—
We have invited you to share with us the most priceless thing in the world—an understanding of the fundamental laws of the universe and the Principle on which they are based. The understanding and application of these laws of God begin immediately to produce results. Mental and financial poverty and lack of opportunity give place to intelligently directed right activity which provides for our human needs. Moral and physical sickness yield to a purification and refreshment of the thought which controls the body, until the continuation of disease becomes an impossibility. Self-pity and fear go down before love for our fellow men and intelligently justified confidence in the power of God. Centuries ago the Psalmist wrote, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Today Christian Science is abundantly proving this.
