Nine years ago I attended a Christian Science lecture, knowing nothing of the teachings of Christian Science. I was in very bad health following a delicate childhood and two major operations; and I was taking medicine five times a day, having been told by a doctor only the previous week that it was essential for me to do so. I did not expect that Christian Science could help me physically, but I came away from the lecture filled with hope and joy. As I poured out my usual medicine that night, I suddenly realized that I did not need it; and from that time I have never taken any medicine.

Christian Science has given me health and strength. It has healed me of heart trouble, from which I had suffered since childhood, and it has given me an aim in life. Membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church has given me a great sense of protection and usefulness; and I am very grateful for The Christian Science Monitor, which is giving me a more universal outlook; for the great privilege of class instruction, and most of all to our Leader for revealing Christian Science to the world.
