Power

The subject of power has engaged the attention of men for centuries. Wars have been fought to gain it; countless efforts have been made to retain it. Indeed, the human efforts to secure power have been unceasing; but as we look about us and see the many failures and mistakes made in this connection we are forced to the conclusion that the search has been in vain.

The Bible says, "There is no power but of God." It also declares that "God is Spirit." Since God is Spirit and the only source of power, true power must be purely spiritual; it is expressed through spiritual law, and the right sense of it must be gained through spiritual understanding. God is infinite; hence His power is unlimited, everywhere available, and, when understood and applied, is adequate to bring about whatever is right and good in human experience. Being always available, never suspended or limited, God's power, when utilized, is competent to bring about any righteous achievement and attain any worthy end. It is never partial or personal, but is unrestricted and accessible to anyone, anywhere. The so-called limitations of time and space have nothing to do with God's power and can never obstruct its perfect manifestation.

God governs all; consequently, there is no other government, power, or influence to oppose His sovereignty or to hinder the perfect expression of His gracious will. "None can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" God's plans brook no interference; His purposes can never be annulled, nor His law suspended. His creation is sustained and maintained by His beneficent power, which is always bringing to pass perfect good for His every idea.
