After many years of blessings experienced through the study and application of Christian Science, a deeper sense of gratitude prompts me to tell how this truth was given to me.

My early years were spent in sickness and suffering with no hope of relief through medical methods. The last specialist I visited said in a most loving, troubled voice, "I do not blame the girl for not submitting to further experimentation; for that is all we can do, experiment;" and his countenance convinced me of the hopelessness of the situation. I then turned to the church leaders for help, as our family had been active members for years, only to be told that they had not reached the understanding to heal as Christ Jesus healed.

However, when our family was torn by grief through the passing on of the youngest member, I reached out for help and wrote to a woman in a near-by city whose name had been handed to me as one who had a religion which could be used in daily life. By return mail, this very busy lady sent me a number of copies of the Christian Science Sentinel and a letter. I received the Sentinels gratefully. In the letter the writer said that if after reading the Sentinels I wanted to know more about Christian Science, I could write to Boston for the textbook, "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
