In reading the testimonials in the periodicals one cannot help but be grateful to know that in this day the Word of God does heal through our understanding and application of Christian Science. In Isaiah we read, "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people," and we do realize that the Comforter has come and is ever with us.

After my first attendance at a Christian Science church service I ridiculed it, for at that time I was a bigoted member of a church having a very ritualistic service; but fourteen years later I again attended this same Christian Science church, and the quietness and simplicity so impressed me that I began the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, perhaps reluctantly at first, but the truths expressed therein revealed to me my need.

After attending my first Christian Science lecture I found I had been healed of the smoking habit; and following that many other healings came, for which I am profoundly grateful. I suffered for ten years with chronic stomach trouble and constipation, but these were healed two weeks after I started to read the textbook. As I began to see the truth more clearly I removed glasses which I had worn for twenty years. My wife removed her glasses after one day's reading of Science and Health.
