God Careth for You
A BEAUTIFUL and reassuring message has been handed down to us by the Apostle Peter, who says, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." "He careth for you"! Our loving, all-knowing, ever present, Father-Mother God cares for us, and, as a mother watches over and nurtures her child, so is He meeting our every need.
And how may we cast our cares, our troubles, our woes, upon Him? Thanks to the revelation which came to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and which through her loving labor has been made available to mankind, we are learning how to do this; we are learning to trust in His care, to have faith that He is governing all things well. We are learning that the one universe, created by God and declared to be "very good," is here and now intact in all its perfection, ever controlled by the one supreme wisdom, and that in it each of His ideas dwells in perfect and eternal harmony. We are learning that our loving Father, our ever present help, infinite, omnipresent Mind, is "no respecter of persons;" and we are learning also that the trials and sufferings which seem real are not realities, but illusions, dreams.
Mrs. Eddy points out in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 404) that "hatred, envy, dishonesty, fear, and so forth, make a man sick, and neither material medicine nor Mind can help him permanently, even in body, unless it makes him better mentally, and so delivers him from his destroyers." If one's waking dream takes the form of sickness, it is well to examine one's self to see if any of these enemies need to be uprooted and cast out.
