[Original testimony in German]
I want to testify to a healing which I experienced...
I want to testify to a healing which I experienced through Christian Science. In May, 1930, I had a stroke which paralyzed my right side. The physician who was consulted prescribed injections, and these were given me. In July, I consulted another physician, and he too prescribed injections. When stomach trouble was added and rapidly became worse, a physician decided to make an X-ray examination of the stomach. Three pictures were taken. I then went to a specialist who put me on a milk and light bread diet. He said he could do nothing else; that I should see that I ate carefully, and that this would preserve me for a while. At this stage I felt as if the left side of my head were inflamed; there was a continuous burning pain there. My eyesight had become dimmed, and it seemed as if I saw everything through a veil. I was unable to read newspapers or other print. In this desperate condition I had an operation performed on the spinal cord, which resulted in my having to go to the hospital at once.
Through a dear relative my attention was drawn to Christian Science, and a practitioner was brought to me who immediately took up treatment for me. After one visit the stomach trouble was healed and I was able to eat rye bread and anything else I desired. My general condition improved daily, the eyesight improving and the burning in the head lessening, until in the spring of 1931 I was able to ride a bicycle to Worpswede and back again. I was also able to work my entire garden again.
I am very grateful to my dear relative for having helped me to find Christian Science. My most sincere thanks are due also to the practitioner for her great patience and love. With all my heart I am grateful to our Father-Mother God. I have but one wish, namely, that I may increasingly apprehend Truth. I am also grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the great work which she has done for mankind.—Ewald Zorn, Bremen, Germany.
