A deep sense of gratitude impels me to tell of some of the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. My gratitude goes out to God for having led me to this wonderful religion. Since it was presented to me it has been a never failing fount of blessing.
From childhood I suffered from violent headaches and from imperfect functioning of the stomach and bowels. These troubles disappeared completely through the study of the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly and the reading of the Christian Science periodicals, though many years of medical treatment had brought no relief. This study awakened in me a great desire to become better and to so live as to please God more. This desire was blessed, and I gained my healing through a more correct understanding of God and man.
A difficulty which had been a constant source of anxiety to my family since my childhood was slower to yield. Many methods and remedies tried by doctors had been of no avail. This error frequently manifested itself in fainting fits. I would fall down apparently lifeless, and for the next two or three days would remain in a state of suffering and fear. In 1926 this same trouble attacked me more acutely than usual. When I came to myself this was in my thought: "The thing which I greatly feared is come upon me." With the help of Christian Science I have been completely freed from this bondage, for the trouble has never reappeared, nor even the temptation to be afraid. A certain fault of character also disappeared at the same time. I was able to feel with the Apostle John that "there is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear."
