How many times we allow a problem to become so magnified that we think a great understanding of the truth is required to solve it! We ask for help from someone who, as we think, has that needed larger understanding of God's allness, and we conscientiously study and apply the truths as taught in Christian Science to the best of our understanding, but still the solution does not appear.
Since, as Christian Science teaches, God is infinite Mind, ever present Love, He often leads us to find the answer through some beautiful object lesson when we, in childlike trust and confidence, turn to Him. Proof of this was recently given to one student through her observation of a rosebud.
One day a friend gave her a very beautiful rosebud which, although lovingly received and admired, did not at first receive any special attention. However, this rose had a special message to deliver and later demanded attention. A deep sense of injustice, ingratitude, lack of appreciation, fear, and other errors had limited this student for years, but on this particular day she had decided to become master of the situation and was diligently seeking a better understanding of God and man. She hastily put the flower into a dainty vase and went on with her work. Gradually a faint fragrance permeated the room. The rose was smilingly glanced at, the beauty of Love's allness momentarily dwelt on, but the study at hand, being paramount, was assiduously continued.
